Dr. Vinesh Vijayan is an Associate Professor in school of chemistry of IISER Thiruvananthapuram. He did his early education in Kerala and went on to do his graduation from IIT Madras in 2002. He later did his PhD from Max-Planck institute of Biophysical chemistry in Göttingen Germany in the field of biomolecular NMR. Following his PhD he did two post docs in solid-state NMR in a different group in Göttingen. Dr. Vinesh joined IISER Thiruvananthapuram as an assistant professor in 2011 where he is currently in the position of associate Professor. His main research focus is on protein structural studies using nuclear magnetic resonance. His group is interested in membrane proteins and proteins involved in memory degeneration and memory retention.
