- Established a Solar cell characterization lab with international electrotechnical commission standards and American society for testing and materials standards.
- Tested Organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells for harvesting light in the infra-red region and usage of multiexciton generators for increasing the efficiency
- Grown PbS nanowires in a porous structure using electrochemical method

- Developed one of the highest efficiency in plastic solar cell by increasing the order and crystallinity in an interpenetrating networks by annealing technique.
- Patented a lossy fiber optic architect for a better solar radiation collection in a solar cell active medium and started a venture capitalist firm Fiber Cell LLC.
- Showed reduced degradation of solar cells by encapsulating it with a polymer nanocomposite made of saran and boron nitride nanotubes.
- Patented an energy efficient solid state lighting system, Alternative current thin film electroluminescent devices, by increasing the electric field strength using a polymer nanocomposite material as a dielectric. Started a venture capitalist firm Purelux LLC based on this patent
- Demonstrated the effect of variation in dielectric property of the surrounding medium on Plasmon resonance of metal nanoparticles in a voltage controlled tenable electrochromic device made of polymer nanocomposite.
- Highly sensitive gas sensors based on increased conductivity of polymer carbon nanotube composites were developed.
- Studied the effect of polymer nanocomposites dielectric on the performance of field effect transistors
- Introduced and patented a non invasive pressure sensor technology based on the dependence of the Plasmon resonance frequency of metal nanoparticle on the interparticle distance to monitor interstitial pressure in symptoms like compartmental syndrome
- Established electro spinning setup for biologically compatible polymer-nanocomposite nanofibers for tissue engineering.
- Developed and studied electrospun fibrin fibers for its mechanical strength..
- Managed lab operations (Glove box, electronic equipments and evaporators, class 1000 clean room) and supervised the research of two masters and four undergraduate interns.

- Developed vapor deposited conducting polymer anodes for polymer photovoltaic devices
- Investigated the principle of conductivity dependence on the conformational changes of a conducting polymer and made conducting polymer based hydrogels for electronic detection of biomolecules.
- Soft-lithography was used to make micro fluidic systems.

- Investigated the concept of p-n junction in conjugated polymer based solar cells
- Devices were made using organic inorganic hybrids which showed dual function as a light emitting diode and a photodiode.
- Invented a technique to control the photocycle of bacteriorhodopsin by varying the redox state of conducting polymer using external bias.
